Course Summary:

The Distributing and Layering Leadership course is facilitated, blending online tutorials, with digital resources, and practical in-school activity. I will be your course tutor, and between the online tutorials I will provide you with ongoing support and feedback as your participation in the course builds.

The course will provide you with materials to stimulate your thinking about how leadership is effectively distributed within an organisation, and will provide you with coaching to ensure that the distribution and layering of leadership in your school is supporting you to achieve highly effective outcomes.

The course is suitable for senior leaders, headteachers, executive headteachers and governors.

Course objectives:

As a result of their participation on the course, participants will:

  • Have been supported to evaluate the effectiveness of the systems and procedures in place in their own school / trust that ensure that there is clarity and understanding of leadership structures that are shared by all team members.
  • Identified actions that they need to take as individuals, and actions that need to be taken collectively within the school / trust to further develop the effectiveness of the distribution and layering of leadership.
  • Feel well prepared to describe the effectiveness of distribution and layering of leadership in their setting to those with responsibility for monitoring and evaluation (e.g Governors, Trust Boards, or Inspection)
