Course information

Course Summary:

The Managing Change course is facilitated, blending online tutorials, with digital resources, and practical in-school activity. I will be your course tutor, and between the online tutorials I will provide you with ongoing support and feedback as your participation in the course builds.

The course will provide you with materials to stimulate your thinking about methods and approaches for managing change, and will provide you with coaching to ensure that your own management of change can be highly effective. Changing other people's habits can be hard, but it doesn't have to be impossible!

The course is suitable for middle leaders and senior leaders who are likely to need to lead change , and for headteachers, and executive headteachers who might want to refresh their knowledge and understanding.

Course objectives:

As a result of their participation on the course, participants will:

  • Have a strong understanding of research that underpins change management, and will have reflected on the relevance of that research within their own school.
  • Have been supported to evaluate the effectiveness of the systems and procedures in place in their own school / trust that ensure that change is managed well by leaders at each layer so that team members are empowered to engage with the change leading to effective outcomes.
  • Identified actions that they need to take as individuals, and actions that need to be taken collectively within the school / trust to further develop the effectiveness of the change management.
  • Feel well prepared to describe the effectiveness of the management of change in their setting to those with responsibility for monitoring and evaluation (e.g Governors, Trust Boards, or Inspection)
